It begins by talking about the camaraderie of music and how many string instruments work best together, and then begins to define different string instruments and how they create sound. The book closes with discussing different types of string instruments on a global scale and gives an activity based around sounds created by strings. The book includes a helpful glossary for readers who may be struggling. I believe the book would be an effective device for educating students about different types of string instruments, their various contexts, and how the instruments produce sound in general. It also includes an activity which saves an educator time and creativity and includes famous string instrumentalists to teach students about string history. -- Simon Tiffin
