Meet the Orchestra by Ann Hayes is a book explains every instrument in a standard orchestra. It explains violins, violas, cello, string bass, flute, piccolo, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, bass clarinet, french horn, trumpet, tuba, and percussion such as timpani, cymbals, and piano. The book ends with explaining the role of the conductor and how the group plays together. Students learn even more about the instruments because the author uses sounding words like booming and groan as well as other words that aren't necessarily connected with music, like colors. She gives the mood the instruments set as well.
