Strings written by Wendy Lynch is a book that informs readers of the instruments within the string family. This book uses terminology that helps children of a young age understand music. The main focus of this book is to help teach students about the string instrument family. Within the book is an activity to make you own guitar, which I think would be very fun to do in a classroom setting. The book shows how accessible music can be and that almost anyone can create music. I would use this book within an elementary general music class to during a unit on the different types of instruments. This book would also be useful for students who wish to learn how to play. This book is part of a larger series that dives in deeper about what each instrument does and how making music together is important.
