Ian Marcusiu: Jazz ABZ
Jazz ABZ is written by renowned trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and illustrated by Paul Rogers. This book is most likely aimed towards elementary students, but I think even middle schoolers and in some instances high schoolers could get something out of this text. The book is set up so that each letter of the alphabet has a famous jazz artist with that name. Each artist has a poem about them and the poem is even set up in the same kind of form that the musician was known for. Elementary school students would gain a lot from learning about different musicians, and middle school/high school students could get a lot out of trying to figure out the form of the poem and compare the form to the actual musicians music. This is a wonderfully written, colorful book for a large range of ages that can be used to educate children in a variety of ways.
