Scott Eriksen: What is Punk by Eric Morse

This is an interesting book, it goes over the history and describes punk music. Punk music is fairly new when compared to other musical genres that were around for much longer, but the book is able to give an in depth history. Instead of just having information with pictures on a page, it tells the story through rhyming poetry. It introduces different sub genres of punk based on location (East/West coast, Detroit, UK) and goes over bands associated with each area. This book is a very accessible read and would be useful in a classroom with younger students to teach them about punk and give them a starting place to listen to more varieties of music.
