Blind Boone: Piano Prodigy by Madge Harrah
This
is the story of a musician who at sixth months, was declared blind, however he
had a way with music that many others could not compare. He could repeat any
piece of music after hearing it once on the piano and was the first pianist to
perform ragtime on the concert stage. He also took his musical inspiration from
many different paths of his own African American culture. This is a great story
for children so they can understand how diverse music is and learn about the musical
background of one of the greatest music prodigies in America.
