Mozart: The Boy Who Changed the World with His Music
By Marcus Weeks
This book is a biography of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a famous musical composer. It is written at a friendly reading level, but is too long to read in one sitting for a class. I would suggest that a teacher read only a little at a time. Each section is only a couple of pages long, and there are pictures. The book also has a glossary, so students can learn vocabulary words from this book as well, like “aria,” “concerto,” and “symphony”. There is a section about musical instruments that could be addressed apart from Mozart. This book has a lot of information, and could give students a really solid knowledge of Mozart and music in general, but in a class setting I think it should be divided into sections.
