Sing-Along Song - JoAnn Early Macken
Sing-Along Song by Joann Early Macken is a story about a small boy and how he goes through his day and is moved to sing just by things that occur in his everyday life. The book explores the boy’s day from the moment he wakes up, until the moment before he goes to bed and how he views aspects of everyday life as musical, and can’t help but sing-along. He sings with the birds, the bees, the squirrels, his Daddy, and his Momma. This book is great for small children in the music classroom because it influences them to think of how how music relates to their lives outside of the music classroom. It also allows for the teacher to create a “sing-along” song to match the book that students could participate in, after presenting the book with enough repetition.
