Oooh! Picasso by Mil Niepold and Jeanyves Verdu

This book contains a compilation of sculptures created by Pablo Picasso.  The pictures offer a close-up detail shot of five works of art at different angles.  The book is also interactive in that it asks the readers the question "What is this?" and the different detail shots of the sculptures don't convey what the artwork represents.  Instead, the storybook creates a playful narrative about what the close-up shot looks like.  The book allows the readers to change the meanings of the artwork with pure imagination.  Works of art definitely don't have to be purely representational.  In the classroom, this book can be used to teach students how to provide multiple contexts in art, or how to create meaning through making.
