Splat the Cat Sings Flat

The book Splat the Cat Sings Flat is about a cat named Splat who is told that during Parents’ Night everyone would sing for the parents. Splat being nervous to sing is hesitant to sing and doubts his ability to perform for the parents. When it comes time to perform however Splat manages to find the courage and sing as well as be the star of the show. The story is written at a low reading level however goes through the idea of how to work with students who are shy about performing. Even if a student is too shy to perform because he/she does not feel he/she is “good” enough, the book shows that in the end people want to support the student no matter what and he/she should not fear performing in front of other even if they are way way flat.
