“Drums” by Cynthia Klingel and Robert Noyed starts off by saying that people all over the world play drums and that people do this to make music and create a beat. It goes on to read that you can make sounds on a drum with a drumstick and feet with a pedal. Next it talks about how there are many different types of drums and that some are small and some are big. It closes with saying that it is fun to play the drums. This book is a very easy read and teaches kids that drums are a very versatile instrument and that there are not just one type of drum. What I really like about this book is at the end it has a vocabulary list that has the words “beat, create, drumstick, and sound” . This is helpful because these are the words in the book that kids might not understand and it makes it very easy for kids to add these words to there musical vocabulary.
