Talkin’ Guitar: A
Story of Young Doc Watson by Robbin Gourley
This
book tells the story of a boy who cherished every sound he heard, from nature,
to animals, to voices. He appreciated sounds so much because he was blind. He
was always listening and in return he would make sound. His father one day
bought him a guitar and played and played it until it was time for bed. He didn’t
let his disability get him down and he used it as a tool of communication. This
is a wonderful story for all children, because it shows that whatever your circumstances
may be, there is always room to grow in practicing.
