Cool Rock Music by Karen Latchana Kenney gives students a basic overview of what the rock genre is, how they can find it in music that happens around them everyday, and tools that students can also use to create rock music and become more comfortable with it. There is a timeline that goes over important rock history facts and information about what a rock group is made up of in terms of instruments. There’s also a section that provides artists, songs and albums to listen to, which could be very useful in a classroom where I might be teaching music appreciation to students who aren’t in another music class.
