Mari Elias- The Sounds Of Music

"The Sounds of Music" is a book written bc L.C. Casterline and the author talks all about how there are so many different types of genres of music, instruments, and musicians and how they can be found all over the world, even locally. There is also mention of how music can make you emotional; it can make you happy or sad, want to dance or sing, or other things. I think this book is very inclusive because it not only talks about genres or instruments that children will recognize, but it also mentions other genres that are seen around the world and how different cultures use instruments we usually see here in a different way in other parts of the world. I love how the book ends with reminding its readers that music is everywhere and it just a normal part of life. If you open yourself up to music, you will hear it everywhere, and I think that is a very good message.
