Drumbeat in our Feet is a children’s book that outlines the different types of dances and drum circles that are native to many countries in Africa. This book goes through and outlines many different styles of dances, along with where and why they originated. (There is a paragraph for each type of dance that gives a lot of information describing the history and content for each page.) Although this book does not come with a cd of the correct music to do these dances to, but there is plenty of artwork throughout to help set the mood for the students reading this book. This book could go a long way in educating students on ancestral and historically accurate songs and dances from the African continent.
