“Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin” by Lloyd Moss, is a picture book that
exposes children to different instruments and instrument families. Filled with
mostly elaborate illustrations with cute rhymes, this book is perfect for
beginning readers, perhaps under the age of 5. I think this book is great, and
I found it interesting from an educational perspective for several reasons. I
think that this book can actually blend into the Art Education tab as well as
the music one because of the prominent illustrations. The art inside the book
is very elaborate and sophisticated, so having children read rhymes about the
instruments and then enjoying the artwork really makes their heads think, and make
further connections between literacy, art, and music.
