Rebecca Panitch - I’m Good at Making Music by Eileen M. Day
This content of this book covers general aspects of music as well as specifics about certain instruments suitable for children to play in a general music education classroom. Each page only has two simple sentences along with a picture to help visualize the written description; this indicates that this book would be suitable for elementary-aged students learning about music and different types of instruments they can play. This would be a great book to read after learning to play some of the instruments in the book, because they the children can connect their experience with the instrument with the content presented in the book. Also, I thought the ending message (and the title of the book) is important because it preaches a positive perspective on music-making. It supports individualized confidence, and I think it’s very important to boost kids’ confidence starting at an early age.
