Beverly Armstrong – Build a Doodle 1 (Step-by-step line drawings to improve visual perception)

Build a doodle opens up with an introduction specifying its purpose. It is clear in this introduction and in the tittle that this book is not a tutorial book to help students improve on their drawing skills but instead to improve their visual perception, develop their motor skills, and give them hours of enjoyable practice in perceiving proportions and recognizing relationships. This would be a great tool for the classroom because it is a great way to help students pay more attention to their surroundings. When making art, the choices they make on proportions and style becomes a self-aware choice. This skill is great to begin to develop at a young age. The book comes in a small easy to carry hard cover with 32 doodles of different difficulty levels. Some of the doodles are featured in color on the front page. The doodles range from a pencil to banana split with whip cream and sprinkles.
