Bears in a Band by Shirley Parenteau shows a few different members of a band in a very cute way. There are four instruments sitting on chairs, and four bears come and pick the one they want. They play anything and everything, and they don't care if all of the notes are right. Big bear comes in later and plays the role of the conductor with a ladle, making the other bears play soft or loud. The point of this book is to show that band is supposed to be fun, and it you should worry less about the notes and more about the music. It also demonstrates how the conductor can control the sound with the waving of their baton (ladle).
