This book is called Drum Dream Girl and is by Margarita Engle and illustrated by Rafael López. This is my favorite book I've found because it features a female character who changes music because she chooses to play the drums, which is a stereotypically male instrument. This would be great for students to get exposed to at an early age at an effort to break the gender stereotypes associated with the different instruments.
