Geraldine, the Music Mouse by Leo Lionni is a longer story book that isn't necessarily about specific kinds of music, but rather music as a whole. It tells a story about mice and the cheese they love to eat. Geraldine gets help lifting a big piece of cheese, and then eats it down to a statue of a mouse playing on the end of its tail like a flute. Geraldine's friends don't believe her, but then are amazed when Geraldine starts doing it herself. Then they celebrate that the music is now in her by eating the cheese statue. Important musical concepts in this book are that music can be a very beautiful thing, and there is music inside of everyone if they reach for it.
