Rebecca Panitch - I Want to be a Musician by Dan Liebman

This book gives a general overview of different types of musicians and the music they make. There are only one to two simple sentences per page along with photographs that take up the entire page. This would be great for elementary-aged students because of the large pictures and simple sentences. This book does a good job of incorporating a variety of ways to view a musician rather than painting one single picture of what a musician should look like or be like. I think this book would be very rewarding for students’ thought processes and confidence because this book shows that a musician can come from anywhere. It’s valuable that the book portrays different ways to make music because it shows that not everyone plays the same music but that's what makes music so special.
