"Little Children's Music Book" by Fiona Watt is an early children's reading book about a musical adventure between a flute-playing squirrel and her musically-inclined animal friends. It starts out with Sassy the Squirrel who discovers a flute in the forest and learns to play it, then all of her animal friends become inspired by her playing and learn other instruments as well. This book has many important educational merits. First, the way the animals are illustrated helps kids become comfortable with them. Second, the book has a button panel on the right side that contains audio recordings of certain animals' instruments when that point in the book is reached. Since children have to press the button, this activates sensory-motor-auditory skills that make the book a great addition to any elementary school library or curriculum.
